Based on the meticulous synopsis of the original movie, they are hoping that both Millennials and Gen Z will get attached to a film they have been watching for a long time.
The ‘Mean Girls’ musical movie teaser was first released long before Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ concert. Then, it was only available to watch via fan-uploaded snippets on social media. However, Paramount made the full, official trailer available on November 8.
After watching the trailer, you can be sure that it’s not that ‘Mean Girls’ movie that your grandmother liked a lot! It’s a brand-new musical!
What is the Story of the New ‘Mean Girls’?
Like the 2004 film adaptation, the new Mean Girls musical film centers on Cady Heron. Cady is a teenage student who recently enrolled in a new high school in suburban Illinois. Her parents are research zoologists in the African savanna. After 12 years, they moved back to the USA again!
She soon discovers how much they resemble the wild animals her parents have researched and how simple it is to turn into one of them. Since the stage musical hosts all of the significant Lindsay Lohan movie events, it makes sense that the new film will have a similar plot.
Following their scheme with the “misfits” of the school, Cady does anything and everything to become a part of The Plastics. It is the North Shore High’s most famous trio. Regina George, the queen bee, is the captain of the organization.
But, as it’s based on the Broadway musical from 2018, expect a significant amount of the plot and language to be conveyed through song.

The Office’s Jenna Fischer will play Cady’s mother, Mrs Heron; Mad Men star Jon Hamm will play Coach Carr; and comedian Connor Ratliff is supposedly joining as a new teacher character named Mr Rapp.
Furthermore, Ashley Park, a former member of the Broadway company who remained until the show’s conclusion and who you may know from Emily in Paris, is now part of the cast in a fresh role as Madame Park, a teacher.
And last but not least, Tina Fey is again portraying her favorite character, Ms Norbury!
When Can We Watch It?
The initial plan was that the movie would be released on Paramount+. But for some private reasons, the movie distributors have changed the plan. According to that, on January 12, 2024, the movie musical will be released in theatres.
After Mean Girls is released in theatres, it’s reasonable to anticipate that it is going to become available on Paramount+. However, Paramount has not yet confirmed any upcoming dates or plans for distribution.
